The
Aggression Scale is a gritty and action-packed thriller that pits hardened
criminals against unexpected defenders in a high-stakes battle over missing
money. The movie opens with mob boss Bellavance (played by Ray Wise), who has
just been released on bail and discovers that $500,000 of his money has
disappeared. With only a short window to flee to a non-extradition country,
Bellavance dispatches four ruthless hitmen — led by Lloyd (Dana Ashbrook) — to
recover the cash and leave a “loud and messy” message for anyone involved.
Their
search leads them to a seemingly quiet rural home where the Rutledge family has
recently moved: Bill Rutledge (Boyd Kestner), his new wife Maggie (Lisa
Rotondi), her daughter Lauren (Fabianne Therese), and Bill’s troubled teenage
son Owen (Ryan Hartwig). Unaware of the danger approaching, the family becomes
the target of the hitmen’s violent mission. During the brutal invasion, Maggie
is tragically killed and Bill is tortured for information about the missing
money.
However,
the hitmen quickly discover they’ve underestimated Owen — a seemingly quiet boy
with a history of violent behavior and an exceptionally high “aggression scale”
score. Using makeshift weapons, booby traps, and clever tactics, Owen rescues
Lauren and leads the group of criminals on a deadly chase through the woods and
around their property. His ingenious yet brutal defense turns the tables on the
hitmen, forcing them into life-or-death confrontations that blur the line
between survival and calculated violence.
